Jazz duo's ...
Jazz duo's can be a combination of any two instruments with differing sound qualities. For similar qualities to the solo guitar add a double bass for depth and smoothness.
A guitar and a solo instrument ( Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone etc) will enhance the solo guitar and provide melodic variation.
Two guitars allow for a hot club style (similar to Django Reinhardt & Gypsy Jazz) as well as full chordal accompanyment to the soloist.
