Biography
Born in Ealing, London in 1960, the family shortly after moved to
Swindon, where he was educated. Steve taught himself to play the
guitar aged 14, after a few years of learning to play the Trombone and
playing in the school orchestra and local youth brass band.
He joined the School Jazz band and appeared on BBC TV on the school music competition Settle The Score.
It was at school where the seeds of his first band, Cloud, were planted.
At this time, Steve was also developing his solo guitar style and won a
heat of a local talent competion playing his version of Misty.
While Steve was with Cloud they released the singles Take It To The
Top, All Night Long and Party Life and The Rio. Take It To The
Top made a low entry into the UK charts, and reached number 3 on the
Radio Luxembourg chart.
After Steve parted company fom Cloud, he formed Style X which released the single No Secret Affair.
Steve's time was then spent playing in local bands covering a variety
of styles and eventually spent a number of years playing the Rock 'n'
Roll scene with the Midnite Dynamo's and Steve Vincent and the
Volunteers.
Turning back to Jazz, Steve then joined forces with an old friend and
Guitarist, Ian Jackson to form the successful Nuages Jazz Guitar
Duo. The Duo were fortunate to play many Jazz festivals across
the country including Birmingham, Marlborough, Teignmouth, Swindon,
Malmesbury and the International Gypsy Guitar Festival.
Steve has recently been depping with many bands and musician's across
the South of England on Guitar and his second instrument, the Double
Bass.
